What is the Residency Program?
The Residency is a 12 week program designed by Upper Room Dallas to equip, train, and empower adults in the “In and Out Lifestyle”. Residents set aside twelve weeks to encounter God together through “coming in” for corporate prayer and worship, receiving training in the Word, and by “going out” to minister in our city with the overflow of God’s love.
The Residency classes help people understand their identity in Christ, grow in intimacy with God, activate their spiritual gifts, and prepare them to live lives surrendered to and empowered by Holy Spirit as they identify and develop His unique purpose for their lives.
What makes the Residency so impactful is that the program is founded on and fueled by His Presence. Combining corporate prayer and worship with biblical instruction, equipping, and personal experience creates an environment for daily encounters with God that are uniquely transformative for each individual.
Why Is It Called the Residency?
The goal of the Residency is to help position you in such a way that your life becomes a resting place for God’s Spirit. During the program Residents will also reside in the “In and Out Lifestyle” which reflects both the vision and leadership of Upper Room Dallas.
Who Is The Residency Designed For?
Every Christian is called to know God intimately and live fruitful and impactful lives for His glory. Since the program began in 2011, residents as young as 18 and others in their 80’s have gathered together to consecrate a season of life seeking God’s face, heart, and purpose for their lives. Past residents have come from a wide variety of backgrounds and callings – from musicians, stay at home moms, lawyers, missionaries, college students, artists, business owners, and retirees. The program is NOT strictly for individuals who feel called to full-time vocational ministry.
